Traveling to New York for Treatment
Start with a virtual consultation, then plan your days in New York around your treatment, not the other way round.

Whether you're coming from across the country or from overseas, a good visit starts long before the plane lands, and careful planning can help it feel easy. I'm Dr. Doris Day, a board-certified dermatologist practicing uptown at 10 East 70th Street, and I'd love to plan your visit with you on a screen first, so you're never left guessing from a hotel room.
- Virtual consultation first, so the plan is set before you book flights
- A table of how many days to allow for each treatment
- Four hotels within about a 10-minute walk, with no partnership

Start with a virtual consultation
A video visit lets us agree on your goals, which treatment fits, and how many days your trip needs, all before you spend anything on travel. To book one, call the office at (212) 772-0740.
Before we meet, it helps to have:
- Recent photos of your face in daylight, front and both sides, without makeup
- A list of your medications and supplements
- Records of any past treatments, such as filler, lasers or surgery, and when you had them
Please don't send health details through the website request form. When you call, the office will explain how to share them with us safely.
No injection or treatment happens over video. The virtual visit is for planning. The treatment itself happens here, in person.

| Treatment | What to plan for |
|---|---|
| Botox and other neuromodulators | One appointment. You'll usually notice a change in a day or two, with the full effect over two to three weeks, so leave 1 to 2 weeks before an event |
| Dermal fillers | Swelling or bruising can take days to weeks to settle, so leave room before an event. Wait a little before flying if your schedule allows |
| HydraFacial | No recovery, so it suits the eve of a party or a big night |
| Sofwave, Ultherapy and Thermage | One visit with little downtime. A short stay works |
| Fotona 4D and Clear + Brilliant | A short stay. The rest of a series can match return trips |
| Vbeam | A short stay. If your settings may leave purple spots, those can take up to about 2 weeks to fade |
| MOXI | Roughly a week while the skin is dry, plus careful sun protection |
| Microneedling | Some redness for a few days each time |
| EndyMed Intensif | Keep roughly 5 days clear of social plans |
| UltraClear | Light settings suit a quick trip. Deeper ones need several days of healing |
| UltraPulse CO2 | Healing runs 7 to 10 days, so keep at least the first 5 free of social plans. Staying on in the city isn't required, because check-ins can happen by video call |
We'll fit your exact dates on the virtual call, because your skin and your plans matter as much as the device.
Getting here
- From the airports: JFK, LaGuardia and Newark all connect to the Upper East Side by taxi or car service. Travel time depends on traffic, so allow extra time at rush hour
- By subway: The nearest stop is 68th Street/Hunter College on the 6 train, at Lexington Avenue, a few blocks east of the office
- The office: 10 East 70th Street, just off Fifth Avenue, facing The Frick Collection
Where to stay
The Surrey, The Carlyle, The Mark and The Lowell are within about a 10-minute walk. We have no partnership with them.
- The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel: 20 East 76th Street, New York, NY 10021
- The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel: 35 East 76th Street, New York, NY 10021
- The Mark: 25 East 77th Street, New York, NY 10075
- The Lowell: 28 East 63rd Street, New York, NY 10065
After you fly home
Follow-up doesn't stop at the airport. We'll set your check-in before you leave, by video if you're home by then, and you'll go home with a written aftercare plan.
If you've had filler, the FDA advises: "Seek immediate medical attention if you experience unusual pain, vision changes, a white, gray, or blue appearance of skin near the injection site, or any signs of a stroke (including sudden difficulty speaking, numbness or weakness in your face, arms, or legs, difficulty walking, visual changes, face drooping, severe headache, dizziness, or confusion) during or shortly after the procedure." Botox and all other botulinum toxin products carry an FDA boxed warning about the effect spreading beyond the treated area. For any other worry after any treatment, call the office at (212) 772-0740.
Travel questions
Can someone come with me?
Yes, and for some visits it's wise. If you choose nitrous oxide during Ultherapy, for example, a companion can help you get back to your hotel.
When can I fly after treatment?
It depends on the treatment. After filler, a short pause before the flight helps if you can manage it. After deeper resurfacing, plan around the healing times in the table above.
How long before an event should I come in?
For filler, give it about two weeks. Swelling or bruising may take that long to go down. For other treatments, we'll set the timing together on your virtual call.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can, especially around holidays and big events.
What are your office hours?
Monday 9:30 AM to 6 PM. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. Thursday 9 AM to 4 PM. Saturday and Sunday: Closed.
How do I book?

Estrogen Study
This study is being done to see whether applying a cream with estradiol (a form of estrogen) to the face can improve overall skin quality and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles in peri- and post-menopausal women, and how this relates to epigenetic changes in the skin. A part of the study will also include applying an extra rapamycin analog cream to the face, which is also believed to improve overall skin quality and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Skin aging in peri- and post-menopausal women is deeply tied to hormonal shifts. This study explores whether topical estradiol can turn back the clock – cellularly.
Eligibility
You MAY qualify if you can answer YES to all:
I am a healthy female (peri or menopausal) between the ages of 40 and 65.
I have not had any cosmetic facial treatments in the last 1-3 months.
I have not had any GLP-1 treatments in the last 6 months.
Study Design and Duration
The study includes daily evening application of study cream for 12 weeks, followed by 4 weeks with no test product use. In total, the study will last 16 weeks or approximately 4 months.
Topical Scalp Serum Containing RLX‑201 in Subjects With Mild‑to‑Moderate Hair Thinning
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of a scalp serum containing RLX‑201 when applied once daily for 20 weeks in men and women with mild‑to‑moderate hair thinning. The study will assess changes in hair density, hair thickness, and overall scalp health using clinical evaluations, imaging tools, and participant self‑assessments.
Eligibility
You MAY qualify if you can answer YES to all:
I am a healthy male or female between the ages of 30 and 60.
Self‑perceived mild‑to‑moderate hair thinning.
I have NOT used minoxidil, light therapy, or other hair growth treatments within 3 months.
I have NOT used medications affecting hair growth (e.g., finasteride, spironolactone, cyproterone acetate, 5‑alpha‑reductase inhibitors) or a GLP-1 within 6 months.
Study Design and Duration
This is a single‑center clinical study lasting approximately 20 weeks. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to attend study visits at the following time points: Baseline, and Weeks 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20.
